AceShowbiz - More than 10,000 copies of their album have been sold in U.S. Straylight Run, an alternative rock band from Long Island, New York, have started gaining attention through their music since the first self-titled CD and even more with the second, 'The Needles the Space'.

The latest effort opened at #72 in Billboard Hot 200, selling 9,800 copies upon its release on June 19, 2007. The song 'Soon We'll be Living in the Future' has been lifted from the album as the first single. Check out the video stream below.

The band is comprised of John Nolan who previously joined Taking Back Sunday but felt that some of the materials from his hands won't suit the band. He went on searching for the right members to finally form Straylight Run. Their debut CD was released under Victory Records in October 2004.

John described how their sound has been evolving and going on in the past few years: "I love pop music. I love hearing a well-written pop song. And I like a lot of music that's experimental and weird. I'm always looking for ways to take a pop song and rearrange it into something interesting and fresh and original."

A tour in U.K. has been prepared starting from September 24, with Motion City Soundtrack on the sideline. They will also embark on a U.S. tour with The Bravery beginning October 31 in Washington DC. Find out more about the schedule on the band's official site.
