Taylor Swift

Having been known as a musician who is talented in composing music, Taylor Swift always receives rave responses from both music critics and dedicated fans whenever she puts out new songs. Her new single, "ME!" featuring Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco, was no exception.

Making its way out on April 26 after much anticipation, the song debuted on Billboard's Hot 100 chart based solely on its first three days of radio airplay. It's expected to vault to the second place on the weekly chart, just behind Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Old Town Road". In the United Kingdom, the single debuted at No. 3.

As for the reviews, Huge McIntyre from Forbes noted that "ME!" isn't just "a pop song, it's the momentary escape we all need," while Roisin O'Connor of The Independent wrote that Taylor "once again proves her mastery of infectious pop hook in one of the most drastic reinventions of her career to date." Erin Vanderhoof of Vanity Fair, meanwhile, praised the collaboration between Taylor and Brendon.

Both the songs and its music video additionally broke several records. The single broke four Amazon Music records for the most first-day streams, the most on-demand voice requests with Alexa than any other single debut on the platform and the most first-week streams among others.

On the other hand, the music video broke Vevo record as well as YouTube record for the most views in the first 24 hours for a lead female video with 65.2 million views, and the third most-viewed video. Furthermore, it broke the Vevo record for the fastest video to reach 100 million views as it did so in just 79 hours.

"ME!" will be the first single off Taylor's upcoming album. Even though she has yet to officially reveal the title of the effort, Taylor has confirmed that she hid the title of the album in "ME!" music video. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe, the blonde beauty said that a lot of her fans had already guessed the album's title right. "They're really smart," she said. "There are fewer people who know the next single title."
