With a mix of 80's-inspired pop hits and heartfelt ballads, British band The 1975 quickly gains a strong following both in their native country and the U.S. Their debut album is certified platinum in both countries, having sold nearly a million copies each. And then you have what people dub their most successful album, "I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Unaware of It", which debuted atop Billboard 200 and music charts in five countries.

The band followed up the success of both efforts by releasing an album titled "A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships" to critical acclaim. Dan Stubbs of NME awarded the album five stars out of five, comparing the effort to Radiohead's Grammy-nominated album "OK Computer", while Time included the effort in its list of Best Albums of 2018. Backed by the rave reviews from critics, the album debuted atop U.K. Albums chart and at No. 4 on Billboard 200.

Probably knowing too well that their albums will always be greatly received by music fans, The 1975 announced that their upcoming fourth album "Notes on a Conditional Form" would be released in May 2019, just six months after the release of their third album. Prior to unveiling the set, the band will embark on a world tour in January in support of both albums. The tour will kick off on January 9, 2019 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and is scheduled to end on September 27 in Perth, Australia.

Besides hitting the road, frontman Matt Healy announced that they would rent out a venue for a week to perform a different era of their music each night. The first night would consist of the band playing songs of their EPs, while the second night would have them performing their debut album. After playing their second, third and fourth albums on the following nights, they would end it by playing their greatest hits on the final night.

Healy additionally noted that each concert would feature "the same lighting and production of each era." He didn't give a specific date for when the shows might occur, but teased it would start at "the end of campaign," possibly meaning that they would hold the shows after releasing "Notes on a Conditional Form" which is dubbed the end of "Music for Cars" era.
