what starts out as a vaguely post-apocalyptic criminals-on-the-run drama turns into an aimless hangout movie; the rebels bringing life-saving medication to the fringes of society turn into tour guides to hipster art installations
this arty indie has lots of style, and it often feels like a psychedelic-fueled outsider artwork, but it lacks a sense of rebellion or force; it eventually seems to be meandering aimlessly
neither of these terms really apply to this rambling, meandering, disorienting, ambitious mess of a film; If you enjoy being sober around your trippin' buddies, then "Tyger Tyger" may be for you, but you're much more likely to feel left out
it's a bit frustrating that the plot is so unfocussed, and so difficult to engage with on any real level. Mondragon definitely has a distinctive eye, and a more compelling narrative might have made this a cult hit
