writer/director Malik Bader doesn't demonstrate an ability to develop suspense. The plot, meanwhile, gets so convoluted that keeping track of who all the minor characters are and what part they play in the whole scenario becomes frustrating
the result might feel overlong and overwrought; yet thanks to Bader's clever plotting and fruity dialogue -- as well as strong supporting players --- this grimy picture climaxes more satisfyingly than expected
"Killerman" takes its influences -- countless pulpy crime thrillers -- and synthesizes them into an increasingly rare thing: a movie that doesn't aspire to any greater heights than where it lands: squarely in the middle of the August dumping ground
