Will Ferrell's latest is a low-key and surprisingly gentle comedy; "Eurovision Song Contest" turns out to be - well, kind of cute. It has some of the unhinged antics we expect from Ferrell, but mostly it borders on something straightforward and sincere
Will Ferrell's is absolutely hysterically terrible; And it's Rachel McAdams' believability, even tangibly intense commitment to this absurd role, that really sells Dobkins' winning film and makes it sing sonorously, warts and all
it's a sweet story; The songs are good, and I'd like to see Ferrell and McAdams reunite in a better picture, but "EuroVision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga" is yet another forgettable Netflix comedy starring A-list talent
it's a strange, tonally misfiring movie; There are some nice gags.. But basically we can never really laugh at them because they're supposed to be sympathetic and relatable; The movie is not a disaster, just weirdly pointless
if it all feels like less than the sum of all that wig glue and flop sweat and silver lame - and far short of Ferrell's best - it's also still the kind of movie that frankly; Not a new song or even a very good one, but somehow still enough to hum along
