this is a plodding and ultimately infuriatingly noncommittal movie; Its special pleadings are all over the map. And to make them, the filmmakers distort truth; If Mildred Gillars has a story worth telling in a feature film, this isn't it
the feature is flat-out motionless at times, forcing co-star Al Pacino to summon his hammiest thespian ways to help provide some energy to an otherwise deathly dull film
clumsy, campy and kitsch, but also deadeningly dull for long stretches; It's a portrait that aims for movingly enigmatic but ends up mystifyingly immobile
admittedly intriguing, but an incompetent mess; The story here is worth telling and undeniably interesting, so maybe "American Traitor: The Trial of Axis Sally" will convince someone else to do it better
