A Melbourne native born on January 13, 1990, Liam Hemsworth didn't realize early on that acting was his calling and thus worked laying down floors as a career. After that pushed by the eagerness to follow in his brothers' footsteps as actors, he attended his first audition when he was 16. He scored guest appearances on local shows "Home and Away" and "McLeod's Daughters", which led to recurring role in soap opera "Neighbours" from 2007 to 2008. Roles in TV series "The Elephant Princess" (2008) and "Satisfaction" (2007) followed before Liam packed his bags for United States in 2009 for the sake of a much better career.

First of all travelling to Los Angeles, California, he initially scored part in "The Expendables" (2010), but had his character being written out of the script days before shooting. He next auditioned for the title role in "Thor" (2011), but lost the part to his big brother Chris Hemsworth.

After the setbacks, Liam won a part in Disney's 2010 drama "The Last Song", which saw him starring as high rising star Miley Cyrus' love interest. Also dating the actress-singer in real life, he next appeared in the music video for her song "When I Look at You". The two dated on and off since then, and in June 2012 they announced their engagement before then calling off the engagement for good in September 2013.

Liam subsequently added more films into his resume with a role in box office hit "The Hunger Games". Portraying the character of Gale Hawthorne, his acting skills was acknowledged and he was booked to act in more films, like "The Expendables 2", "Paranoia", and "Empire State". Greater than that, he was also recruited to reprise his role in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (2013), "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1" (2014), and "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" (2015).
