news-detailsAmber (Laura) Heard, born on April 22, 1986 in Austin, Texas, left school at the age of 17 to pursue modeling career in New York. She then relocated to Los Angeles to start an acting career and landed several minor roles in her early years, starring in TV series "Jack & Bobby" and "The O.C." among others. In mid 2000, she began venturing into feature film and made her debut in the acclaimed sports drama "Friday Night Lights". After that, Heard secured small roles in "North Country" and "Alpha Dog".

Landing her first leading roles in film "All the Boys Love Mandy Lane" and on The CW's "Hidden Palms," the actress experienced acting breakthrough with her portrayal of Angie Anderson in 2008 action comedy "Pineapple Express". It won her the Breakthrough Award at Young Hollywood Awards.

The years ahead witnessed Heard's milestones in higher level as she was billed to star in hit flicks "The Informers", "The Joneses", "Zombieland", and "The Stepfather". Those films catapulted her to widespread attention that she was then recruited to star in "Rum Diary" alongside actor Johnny Depp and recognized with the Spotlight Award at Hollywood Film Festival.

As fate would have it, Heard and Depp became close and started dating in 2012. The couple got engaged on Christmas Eve in 2013. Prior to dating Depp, the screen beauty dated photographer Tasya van Ree after coming out in 2010, at GLAAD's 25th anniversary event. At that time she was quoted as declaring, "I don't label myself one way or another-I have had successful relationships with men and now a woman. I love who I love; it's the person that matters."
