Stargate: Origins is an upcoming American science fiction television series based on the Stargate franchise. The series is a prequel to the 1994 film Stargate, and will tell the story of how the Stargate was discovered and first used. The series is set in 1928, and follows a team of archaeologists who discover the Stargate in Egypt. The team is led by Catherine Langford, the daughter of the Stargate's discoverer, Dr. Ernest Langford. The series is scheduled to premiere on MGM's streaming service, MGM+, in 2023.
