Gleason is a 2016 American documentary film about the life of Steve Gleason, a former professional football player who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2011. The film was directed by Clay Tweel and premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2016. It was released in theaters in the United States on July 29, 2016. The film's title is a reference to Gleason's famous punt block against the Atlanta Falcons in 2006, which helped the New Orleans Saints win their first Super Bowl.
