AceShowbiz - Prince Harry was beyond excited following a reunion with members of Princess Diana's family at the Invictus Games celebration. In a new photo circulating online, the Duke of Sussex was seen meeting his uncle, Earl Spencer, and aunt, Lady Jane Fellowes at the special event.
The three reunited with Princess Diana's family members at the Invictus Games event on Wednesday, May 8.In photos that circulated online, Harry could be seen sharing a hug with Earl.
In addition, Harry met his other family members from his mother's side. Among those who were present at the event at St Paul's Cathedral were cousins Lara Spencer, Louis Spencer and George McCorquodale.
A source told Page Six of the reunion, "You can see how sweet they were together." The source continued, "Family is important to Harry - period, regardless of what side of the family." Diana's family members later joined the prince at a reception after the service.
While Harry reunited with Princess Diana's relatives, the father of two couldn't meet his father, King Charles. A spokesman for the Duke of Sussex confirmed in a statement on Tuesday, May 7, noting that Charles can't meet his youngest son due to his "full programme."
The statement added, "In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the U.K. this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty's full program." It concluded, "The duke of course is understanding of his father's diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."
While Harry was celebrating the special tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games, Charles hosted the first Garden Party of the year at Buckingham Palace. He was joined by a slew of senior working royals, including Queen Camilla, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.
