The supermodel and philanthropist is mobilizing support for the families who are affected by the catastrophic floods in her home state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

AceShowbiz - Gisele Bundchen, 43, took to Instagram on May 8 to express her heartfelt plea for help in the wake of the devastating floods that have ravaged Rio Grande do Sul. She shared distressing images and videos of the damage, describing it as "the worst tragedy in its history."

"Heavy rains flooded entire towns across the state, affecting over 350 cities," Bundchen explained. "People have lost their homes, jobs, and everything they own. Sadly, many have yet to be rescued."

She further highlighted the dire conditions faced by those affected, including widespread electricity outages, lack of clean water, and the heartbreaking loss of lives. To support relief efforts, Bundchen urged her followers to contribute to the Luz Alliance Fund, an initiative she established with the Brazil Foundation to provide humanitarian aid to families in need.

"No amount is too small," she stressed. "Together, we can make a difference and bring comfort to those suffering." Bundchen also encouraged local residents to donate essential supplies such as bedding, toiletries, clothing, appliances and daily living items.

As of May 8, the Rio Grande do Sul civil defense force had confirmed 100 deaths, with 66,761 people seeking shelter, 163,720 rendered homeless, 372 injured, and 128 still missing.

The devastation has compelled Bundchen to skip the Met Gala, opting instead to focus on aiding her fellow Brazilians. She encouraged her 22.6 million Instagram followers to "come together and support" the flood-stricken areas, emphasizing that "any act of kindness, no matter how small, will make a difference."
