The former Def Jam executive, who has gone through the similar ordeal as Diddy, defends the embattled Bad Boy mogul amid damning allegations against him.

AceShowbiz - In recent times, the entertainment world has been abuzz with varying opinions on Sean "P. Diddy" Combs and his supposed downfall. While many seem to take pleasure in his troubles, a few voices are making a stand against what they perceive as unwarranted glee in another's misfortune.

Among those supporting voices is Russell Simmons, the co-founder of Def Jam who has also been facing similar sexual assault accusations like Diddy. Simmons came forward to address the situation with a call for compassion and understanding rather than mockery and scorn.

During an enlightening Instagram Live session, Simmons expressed his concern over the joy some people find in the difficulties faced by others, especially when those individuals, like Diddy, have played a significant role in their lives and careers. He remarked, "I know it's fun to watch for some people."

"If I had a nickel for every nasty meme sent to me from people whose lives were enhanced and built by Sean Combs I think it's a bit hypocritical when the only reason you have a life is because you worked for him or he gave you a job or lifted you up somehow," added the former music mogul who is currently living in Bali, Indonesia following damning allegations against him.

It's not just the hypocrisy that Simmons points out, but also the broader issue of schadenfreude - taking pleasure in someone else's pain - within the community. His words serve as a reminder that reveling in someone's downfall does not bring about any positive change. In fact, it can perpetuate a cycle of negativity and hurt.

Without mentioning his own woes, Simmons added, "Watching our brothers fall is hurtful. And everybody get together and laugh at our brothers fall or supporting the tearing down of our brothers. You know it's tough. We may think it's entertaining. Some of the memes are funny, but we have to look up and train our minds to see the good in things and not the negative."
