The 40-year-old rapper, who has been vocal with his support for Palestine, calls out fellow artists, including Drake, for remaining silent on the conflict.

AceShowbiz - Macklemore won't stop voicing his support for Palestine. On Monday, May 6, the rapper released a new song backing pro-Palestinian protesters at college campuses across the country.

The new track is titled "Hind's Hall," a reference to the fact that protesters at Columbia University renamed Hamilton Hall as Hind's Hall. The rename is a tribute to a 6-year-old who was reportedly killed by Israeli forces.

"The people, they won't leave," the MC raps on the song, the video for which showed footage from protests. "What is threatening about divesting and wanting peace? The problem isn't the protests, it's what they're protesting. It goes against what our country is funding."

Macklemore also slams "lies" that "it's antisemitic to be antizionist" before accusing Israel of genocide. "If students in tents posted on the lawn occupying the quad is really against the law and a reason to call in the police and their squad, where does genocide land in your definition, huh?" he spits.

Macklemore also puts Joe Biden on blast, declaring that he won't be voting for him in the 2024 presidential election. "The blood is on your hands, Biden," he rhymes. "We can see it all, and (expletive) no, I'm not voting for you in the fall."

Not stopping there, the 40-year-old even calls out fellow artists, including Drake, for remaining silent on the matter. "Never be defeated when freedom's on the horizon/ Yet the music industry's quiet, complicit in their platform of silence/ What happened to the artist? What do you got to say?" he argues. "If I was on a label, you could drop me today/ I'd be fine with it cause the heart fed my page/ I want a ceasefire, f**k a response from Drake."

Back in October 2023, the "Thrift Shop" hitmaker declared that he stands for a "Free Palestine" while he also condemned Hamas' attack on Israel. "I have been in fear. I have felt a literal lump in my throat and I cannot stay silent any longer. I condemn the murder of any human," he penned in an Instagram post.

"My heart deeply hurts for the Israelis that lost loved ones to such an abomination. As a father I cannot imagine if one of my kids was at that festival [the Supernova music festival, attacked by Hamas], or was still missing after being kidnapped. It is absolutely unfathomable," he added. "Killing innocent humans in retaliation as collective punishment is not the answer. That is why I am supporting the people around the world who are calling for a ceasefire."
