Adrian Cameron, Jr., a 19-year-old teen who is free on bond for a 2021 murder, is wanted by police for the death of the California rapper following a robbery turned deadly.

AceShowbiz - A teen is named a suspect in the death of rapper Chris King. Police have identified 19-year-old Adrian Cameron as one of the three suspects involved in the gunfire that killed the rapper, whose real name is Christopher Cheeks.

Police issued the criminal homicide warrant for Adrian, who has a criminal record. The teen was out on bond for the September 2021 murder of Josh Evans, 50, who police found shot dead in the Cumberland River. He is supposed to be wearing an ankle monitor in connection with the previous murder.

"The criminal homicide case was transferred from Juvenile Court to Criminal Court. As a part of his bond conditions, Cameron was on an ankle monitor. Data from the monitor shows it was cut off shortly after Saturday's shooting," police said of the previous case, according to local news outlet WSMV.

Chris was shot Saturday morning, April 20 in an alleyway outside of a music studio between Hayes and Church Streets in the Midtown area of Nashville. A 29-year-old friend of Chris was also injured in the shooting.

Chris was with friends when three men walked up and began chatting with them. Police said the surviving victim told them that the suspected shooter and two friends approached them "cordially" and hung around for a bit before attempting a robbery.

"The 29-year-old victim reported the group was hanging out cordially for some time before the three suspects attempted to rob his group of friends," police said in a statement. "It was then that he heard gunfire and realized he was struck."

Chris and his friends flew in separate directions. The rapper was found in the parking garage of the Hayes Street Hotel, while his friend was found on Church Street. Both were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Chris ultimately died.

In the wake of Chris' death, Justin Bieber paid tribute to the late rapper, who was his former roommate. "Love you bro. This one hurts. Please keep his family in your prayers. See you in paradise brother," he wrote on Instagram Story along with a picture of the two sharing a hug.

Trippie Redd, Machine Gun Kelly and Keke Palmer also mourned Chris' death.
