AceShowbiz - King Charles III has resurfaced in Scotland to attend church amid his cancer treatment. The 75-year-old king was joined by his wife Queen Camilla to attend a church service on Queen Elizabeth's posthumous birthday.

On Sunday, April 21, which would have been his late mother's 98th birthday, Charles was seen leaving a church service at Crathie Kirk, near Balmoral Castle in Scotland. He seemed to be fit enough to drive himself and his wife to and from the service. The king and the queen appeared to be in good spirits, smiling and waving to onlookers as they were departing.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla waved and smiled at onlookers as they left a church service on Queen Elizabeth's posthumous birthday.

Grant Harrold, who served on the couple's staff from 2004 to 2011, said there likely will be reflections, tributes and toasts in honor of the late Queen, but noted that the family "won't publicly do anything." He told Slingo, "Privately, I have no doubt they'll raise a toast to her in the evening. I'm sure the day will very much be spent reflecting on the late Queen."

"I can almost guarantee that if you were to go to Windsor Castle that day, it's very likely there'll be some flowers on the tomb that have been sent by the family members," Grant added. "Sometimes on royal anniversaries, flowers are sent to royal graves. It's very possible there will be flowers on the tombstone."

The couple's church outing serves an affirmation to the king's health condition after he announced his cancer diagnosis in February. In January, the king underwent a procedure to treat an enlarged prostate, during which "a separate issue of concern was noted," the palace said in a statement at the time. He then began "a schedule of regular treatments" and postponed most public-facing duties, following medical advice.

The father of Prince William and Prince Harry made his first public appearance following the diagnosis at Easter when he attended a church service at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle with Queen Camilla and other royal family members. At the service, he sat apart from the rest of the royal family and attendees as a precaution.

Following medical advice, the couple also opted out of the customary post-service events, including a reception and a private family lunch. However, the king briefly greeted members of the public gathered outside the church, shaking hands and sharing Easter wishes.
