The 'All Too Well' hitmaker makes many believe that she is making a reference to her and her former boyfriend's short-lived romance on the newly-released collaborative song.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift has sparked rumors suggesting that her collaborative single with Post Malone is inspired by Matty Healy. Shortly after "Fortnight" was released, the "All Too Well" hitmaker made many believe that the track is about her former boyfriend.

As of Friday, April 19, the 34-year-old singer/songwriter's joint song with Post, whose real name is Austin Post, is available on various music streaming platforms. On the track, she sings, "I was supposed to be sent away/ But they forgot to come and get me/ I was a functioning alcoholic/ 'Til nobody noticed my new aesthetic."

Taylor continues, "All of this to say, I hope you're okay/ But you're the reason/ And no one here's to blame/ But what about your quiet treason?" She serenades, "And for a fortnight there we were forever running/ 'Til you sometimes ask about the weather/ Now you're in my backyard turned into good neighbors/ Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her."

Taylor and Post then sings, "All my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February/ I took the miracle move on drug, the effects were temporary/ And I love you, it's ruining my life/ I love you, it's ruining my life/ I touched you for only a fortnight/ I touched you, but I touched you."

After unleashing the song, many listeners assumed that Taylor is referring to Matty on it. The title means "a period of two weeks," seemingly making a reference to their short-lived romance in 2023. One of her listeners wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, "So Fortnight is about Matty Healy. Taylor wtf." Another penned, "Not Fortnight sort of being about Matty Healy," adding sad face emojis.

Before dropping "Fortnight", Taylor announced that she will be releasing a music video for the joint single. On Thursday, April 18, she shared the exciting news and teased the visuals on social media. She uploaded a teaser video containing several dramatic scenes from the upcoming MV, which is set to be launched later on Friday.
