The 'Saltburn' actor shocks people as he soaks in blood and devours raw pig hearts in risque vampire-inspired photos that many deem 'disturbing' and 'gross.'

AceShowbiz - Barry Keoghan's attempt to impress fans with his vampire-themed photoshoot for W magazine has backfired. Instead of earning praises, the Oscar-nominated actor has faced backlash for his gruesome images from the risque shoot.

People took issue with two particular photos from the shoot. In one of the images, the Irish star soaks in a bathtub of blood that in a nod to his "Saltburn" scene in which his character Oliver Quick drinks his aristocratic friend Felix Catton's (Jacob Elordi) bathwater, where Catton earlier masturbated in. In the snap, Keoghan sports black latex gloves and a pearl necklace.

Another picture in question shows the "Dunkirk" star sitting on a dining table and pretending to eat raw pig hearts. His hands and face are covered in blood while he rocks a black sequin shirt that looks in contrast with the gruesome display.

Upon seeing the pictures in question, many couldn't help but express their brutal take on the shoot on social media. "What an awful photo shoot," one reacted underneath the photo. Another pleaded, "Make it stoooop. So boring and pathetic."

A third called it "heinous," adding, "And I am a huge fan of his. But yikes." A fourth person remarked, "i'm getting vampire scene flashbacks please delete this." Another person asked, "Why the blood? This is so disturbing."

"This was not a slay," a sixth person remarked, while another said, "this is terrible." Not impressed, one other wrote, "This is gory and disturbing. Not handsome. Let's at least keep it 100." Others left more negative comments that read, "ew this is demonic" and "Gross."

Some others attacked Keoghan over his look, with one wondering, "people really think this is a handsome man???" Another similarly said, "Handsome??? What? Gross maybe."

Meanwhile, hitting back at the naysayers, a fan wrote, "Everybody hating is sooo boringgg." Another defended the 31-year-old actor, "People are so rude about people's looks. Everyone should be feeling themselves like he is."

For the Directors Issue cover shoot taken by "Saltburn" director Emerald Fennell, the filmmaker envisioned Keoghan as an undead Londoner-a concept inspired by a disquieting line Keoghan delivers in "Saltburn". He explained, "Because Barry's so theatrical and such an amazing physical performer, I wanted to make that literal and have him as a vampire living his everyday life in London, which means reading 'Twilight', watching old Hammer horror films, and going to the supermarket in armor and a balaclava so that he doesn't get burned to a crisp."
