The 'Inside Amy Schumer' star breaks silence via social media after her face looked swollen when she made an appearance on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on Valentine's Day.

AceShowbiz - Amy Schumer has broken her silence on her different appearance. After sparking concern with her "puffier" face, the actress portraying Amy Townsend in "Trainwreck" assured that she is "okay" as she shared an update on her health.

On Thursday, February 15, the 42-year-old comedian made use of Instagram to address comments on her look with humor. In the caption of her new post, she began by promoting the season 2 release of her series titled "Life & Beth", "At midnight tonight! Binge both full seasons of @lifeandbethhulu."

Amy went on to write, "And thank you so much for everyone's input about my face! I've enjoyed feedback and deliberation about my appearance as all women do for almost 20 years." She then admitted, "And you're right it is puffier than normal right now."

On the reason why, the "Inside Amy Schumer" star explained, "I have endometriosis an auto immune disease that every woman should read about. There are some medical and hormonal things going on in my world right now but I'm okay."

Amy further elaborated, "Historically women's bodies have barely been studied medically compared to men. The book 'All in Her Head' does a good job explaining this." She noted, "I also believe a woman doesn't need any excuse for her physical appearance and owes no explanation. But I wanted to take the opportunity to advocate for self love and acceptance of the skin you're in."

The actress candidly shared, "Like every other women/person some days I feel confident and good as hell and others I want to put a bag over my head. But I feel strong and beautiful and so proud of this tv show I created. Wrote. Starred in and directed. Maybe just maybe we can focus on that for a little. I had backup dancers on Fallon but my face is the headline hahaha anyway I hope you enjoy life and Beth." She then concluded, "Love and solidarity. Amy."

Amy was talking about her appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday, February 14. In a video from the particular episode, her face appeared swollen. It prompted viewers, including doctors, to comment on her different look. While some viewers assumed that she is taking steroids to treat inflammation, several medical professionals speculated that she has an autoimmune condition that can trigger swelling.
