AceShowbiz - Sharon Stone has had a few words for people who are "embarrassed" about aging. When talking about herself turning 66 years in a few months, the "Basic Instinct 2" actress deemed those who are ashamed of getting older "stupid and ungrateful."
The 65-year-old actress opened up about her thoughts on aging in a new interview published on Friday, January 26. Speaking to the U.K. Times, she voiced her excitement for turning 66 years old soon. She exclaimed, "Yay. Two exact months until my birthday and I'll be even older."
Sharon went on to explain, "I like being alive and healthy. And I think that we should all be super-thrilled to make it." On the reason why, she stated, "Because I've witnessed any number of people not making it." She further bluntly pointed out, "I think that people who are embarrassed about being older are just stupid and ungrateful."
During the chat, Sharon also discussed her experiences with online dating. She candidly shared that she once "matched" with a convicted felon and "a heroin addict who's clearly 20,000 heroin injections later than the picture he sent me" on some dating apps. She also recalled how she met the addict at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.
The actress told the magazine that she let the man, whose identity she kept under tight wraps, knew that it wasn't going to work upon learning that he was addicted to heroin. She recounted, "I tell the waiter, 'I'll have a glass of water.' He had a cocktail: absinthe or something. And I said, 'I'm sorry, I can't stay.' "
Aside from the unpleasant experiences, Sharon said that she gained benefits from dating apps. She explained, "I was almost like a therapist. One whose wife told him she wanted a divorce and they had two little kids. He was struggling to process it."
"And [the other] had broken up with his girlfriend," she continued. "She had gotten pregnant and instead of marrying, she got an abortion. He was still very much in love with her and I helped him process it. It was really rewarding for both of us. I don't know how to explain it."
