In a new interview, the social media personality recalls how she tricked the 'Say You, Say Me' singer and her other family members before announcing the exciting news.

AceShowbiz - Sofia Richie has used a creative way to tell her and Elliot Grainge's family members that she is pregnant. The social media personality recalled how she and her husband announced the pregnancy news to their parents, including her father Lionel Richie.
In a new interview published on Thursday, January 25, the 25-year-old model revealed that she made use of a luxury brand's box to trick her and Elliot's parents. Speaking to Vogue, she recounted, "We went to Elliot's parents, who live about five minutes away from us, and I think I had a box, I want to say it was a Hermes box or some sort of box, and I told everyone that I had bought them a gift from Milan Fashion Week."
Sofia went on to explain, "Everyone was like, 'Ooooh Hermes!' But then they opened it and it had all three of the pregnancy tests [in it]. That's how we told all of our parents." About their reactions, she detailed, "Watching their reaction go from like, 'I'm about to get an expensive present,' to like, 'I'm about to get a grandchild’ was really sweet.' "
During the chat, Sofia also unveiled that she and Elliot are expecting a girl. "She's growing pretty fast, so [the due date] is a bit up in the air," she said. About how they found out their first child's gender, she elaborated, "I love the YouTubes and the TikToks, even before I was talking about getting pregnant, of gender reveals, so we had our OB text my assistant Becca [our baby's gender]."
"And we bought two party poppers: one blue, one pink. She left out the one with the correct color inside, and Elliot and I popped it together. We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock," she continued. "My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl too."
In the same interview, Sofia discussed keeping the pregnancy news under tight wraps for a few months. "Pregnancy is really scary and you want to protect that space. I didn't realize there are so many milestones you have to hit and so many tests you have to take. For me, it was really important to protect our mental health and our space as a couple. There was an anxiety for me about hitting certain milestones [when it came to the pregnancy], and once I passed that 21-week mark, I felt like I was in the safe zone," she reasoned.
That same day, Sofia treated social media users to a look at her growing baby bump. She uploaded via Instagram a black-and-white photo from her maternity shoots. In the snap, she exposed her stomach as she stood next to Elliot, who sat down and smiled at the camera. Along with the picture, she penned, "And then there were three."
