The 45-year-old late model/actress' body was found in her home in Las Vegas after the police received a call around 8:30 A.M PT on Thursday, January 25.

AceShowbiz - Family, friends and fans are mourning the death of Playboy and Maxim model Masuimi Max. According to reports, cops found her lifeless in her home in Las Vegas on Thursday, January 25. She was 45.

TMZ stated that the police received a call around 8:30 A.M PT before they headed to Max's house. No foul play was suspected in her death, but the authorities will conduct a thorough investigation. More details, including her cause of death, are currently unknown.

In the wake of Max's devastating death, friends, family and fans took to social media to pay tribute to the late star. "I'm still in shock but I want to say a few words…. @masuimimax was a trailblazer for women of color in the pinup industry. I think a lot of us looked up to her. I remember following her MySpace page when I was younger. Then I got the opportunity to meet and work with her and she took me under her wing and mentored me," Max's friend Ashleeta Beauchamp wrote on her Instagram account.

"She let me model for her makeup company, she invited me out she let me be a part of her burlesque show at hustler. All for nothing in return. I'm so grateful to have know her in that way and for everything she did for me. We had our differences in the past but we found a way to hash it out and reconnect and I’m so glad we did," she added. "I'm just so saddened and in disbelief to hear of her passing it feels unreal ….we truly lost one of the pioneers of this industry and I'm so heartbroken. I'm sending all my love to her family, friends and colleagues…I just cannot believe it."

Fans also mourned her death with one writing on X, formerly known as Twitter, "Masumi Max was such a huge inspiration to me way back to high school and when I was doing hair/makeup and styling for photo shoots. She was a sweetheart when I met her years ago. Gosh this one hits hard."

"Shocked that Masumi Max passed away. Absolute Pinup icon. Tell your special people you love them x," another added. "So devastated," one other admitted.

Max started her career as a model in 2000. She rose to fame immediately as she scored gigs in publications such as Playboy, Maxim, Alt and Bizarre magazines.

In addition, Max starred in some movies and video games. She was best known for her role as Niko in Inland Empire and as Mercel in Protege Moi. She also appeared in 2005's action film "XXX: State of the Union" opposite Samuel L. Jackson, Ice Cube and Willem Dafoe in an uncredited role.
