AceShowbiz - Normani Kordei is gearing up for new music. The former member of Fifth Harmony revealed that she will release her debut solo album later in 2024 and she's "so excited" about it.

The 27-year-old shared an update on the project when speaking to Deadline on the red carpet at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival promoting her new film, "Freaky Tales". She gushed, "The singles have changed. I will definitely say that. And you guys won't know what's coming... I'm so, so excited."

Normani noted that she actually wanted to drop the album sooner. "I want this to come out just as bad as you guys do. I think that's such a misconception," she added. "I want this project to come out more than literally anybody."

The "Wild Side" songstress also made it clear that it will be worth the wait. She emphasized, "But it's literally the best music that I've made, and I couldn't be more proud. I know that once it comes out, you guys are going to be like, 'Ok, the wait was definitely worth it.' "

Back in September 2022, Normani opened up about how determined she is to "make a difference" with her music and style. "That I really did my best to make a difference and really inspire. I feel like anytime that I talk about music, I always come back to representation. The passing of the baton, of passing of the torch," she replied when asked by Girls United how she sees herself.

"I just pray that I do enough in order to make enough strides for the next generation to be able to start where I finish, and make the experience a bit easier, the way that those before me have for me," she continued. "Not to say that I haven't been doing anything, because it's going to be a challenge of some sort, but I hope that I can make it a little bit easier."
