Around two months after filing for divorce from Ali, Ashlyn, who has played for Washington Spirit, denies the cheating speculations, insisting that 'they are simply not true.'

AceShowbiz - Ashlyn Harris has broken her silence amid a painful split from Ali Krieger. Around two months after filing for divorce from Ali, Ashlyn, who has played for Washington Spirit and Orlando Pride, made use of social media to shut down "false narratives" suggesting that she cheated on her now-ex.
On Saturday, November 18, the 38-year-old athlete issued a lengthy statement via Instagram to address the infidelity allegations. "Ending a relationship after almost 13 years of friendship, teammate-ship, marriage, and co-parenting (many of them good years) is a decision that was not made lightly. We agreed to center our children, continue therapy, separate, and to move forward with our lives," she began writing.
"Two happy families are always better than one unhappy one. This process is never easy, but we were making our way through," she continued. "We planned to keep this information private... a leak made that impossible. The online hate that has happened since has been one of the most personally devastating experiences of my life. I know that it is best practice in the world of online gossip not to feed the beast."
Ashlyn went on to recall, "For weeks I have tried to take this advice... and what I've experienced has been devastating for my mental health." She explained, "Words matter. The cheering on abuse, the people clamoring to encourage me to commit suicide and the cruel words spoken about my children and who I am as a mother? Those words matter."
The soccer star further stated, "People have run with a narrative that's unbearably painful. Not all marriages last forever. Our did not. For many reasons. And while I understand that the false narrative about why might feel juicer or make a batter [sic] headline, they are simply not true."
Ashlyn additionally stressed, "Let me be clear: I did not step out on my marriage. I was always faithful in my marriage, if not always totally happy. Like in many partnerships, there was work and therapy and processing done. None of this happened on a whim."
In mid-October, it was reported that Ashlyn filed for divorce from Ali on September 19 in Florida. Not long after the news of their split, a number of media outlets claimed that Ashlyn is in a romantic relationship with actress Sophia Bush.
Later on, Ali appeared to have hinted that Ashlyn cheated on her. On October 20, Ali wrote via Instagram, "Preparing for playoffs while in my Beyonce lemonade era." She was making a reference to Beyonce Knowles' 2016 album "Lemonade" about her husband Jay-Z's infidelity.
Ashlyn and Ali met for the first time back in 2010 during a USWNT training camp. The former couple tied the knot in December 2019 in Miami nine months after announcing their engagement. They adopted two children, a boy and a girl, together.
