AceShowbiz - Jimmy Buffett has drawn mixed reactions for his rendition of the national anthem ahead of NFC Championship game in New Orleans on Sunday, January 20. While his overall performance was mundane, it was the conclusion of his performance that baffled the world.
In a video which the singer shared on his social media accounts, he could be seen lifting his right arm, with microphone still in hand, before dropping the mic near the 50-yard line. "wonderful honor - thank you," the "Margaritaville" singer captioned the video.
His action received mixed responses from fans, as some were loving how he chose to end his performance. "Love the Mic drop at the end of the anthem," one social media user said as one other called the "Cheeseburger in Paradise" singer a "f***ing legend" for dropping the mic at the end of his performance.

"It doesn't get much more boss than a mic drop on the national anthem," one other said. There was also one user who love Buffett's mic drop, but not much of a fan of his overall rendition. "I love Jimmy Buffett but that was just a little rough. But that mic drop though," the said user wrote.

The latter user apparently wasn't the only who felt that as some others were not feeling his rendition. "Jimmy Buffett sounds awful," one wrote along with a picture of someone saying, "It's unnecessary. There's no reason for this." Another sarcastically said, "What an inspirational National Anthem from Jimmy Buffett... his message is clear: 'Anyone... literally anyone... can sing the Star Spangled Banner as long as you know the words.' "
