The actress reportedly lost $169,000 after a fraudster got hold of her credit card details and went on a shopping spree.

AceShowbiz - Demi Moore is reportedly the victim of a major credit card fraud.

Editors at TMZ claim the actress has lost $169,000 (£128,000) after a fraudster got hold of her credit card details and went on a shopping spree.

According to the criminal complaint, obtained by the website, 35-year-old David Matthew Read reported the "Ghost" star's American Express card as lost or stolen in March.

He then "somehow managed" to get hold of her newly-issued card, which had reportedly been sent out from the company via courier delivery service FedEx.

After acquiring the card, TMZ reports Read went on a luxury shopping spree in Los Angeles and racked up the vast sum in a matter of weeks.

"The feds say he went on a spending spree, hitting a handful of Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue stores in the L.A. area," editors at the website shared.

Police reportedly arrested the crook in April after spotting him in surveillance footage at various retail stores, as well as at the FedEx depot he used to collect the card.

Read allegedly confessed immediately and is currently serving time in Los Angeles County Jail.
