The One Direction member allegedly is poised to sign on the dotted line to complete the judging line-up for the upcoming series of the singing competition.

AceShowbiz - Louis Tomlinson is reportedly set to become a judge on the The X Factor U.K.

The former One Direction singer is poised to sign on the dotted line to complete the judging line-up for the upcoming series of the singing competition, alongside Simon Cowell and rumoured newcomers Robbie Williams and his wife Ayda Field.

Louis, 26, helped head judge and show boss Simon at the Judges' Houses stage of the show back in 2015, and a source told British newspaper the Daily Mirror that it was Louis' connections to Simon that sealed the deal.

"Louis is very much a part of the X Factor family. He's a close friend of the show and would make a brilliant judge. Simon mentored One Direction and signed them to Syco Records. Now he's looking after Louis' solo career - which is going really well," the source added.

The 58-year-old TV producer hopes the deal will be done in the next few days, as auditions for the 15th series start on 18 July at London's Wembley Arena.

The British singer was tipped as a replacement for BBC Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw for the 2016 series, but when a deal failed to come to fruition, Louis instead took a guest role on America's Got Talent.

Louis auditioned for The X Factor as a solo contestant in 2010 and was given a second chance by being putting into a group with Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Harry Styles. One Direction, which came third in the show, have gone on to become the most-successful band created by the competition.

Zayn left the boy band in 2015 and the group is currently on hiatus, with each member pursuing solo careers.
