According to local media reports published on Thursday, June 21, the 40-year-old was killed when four men opened fire in the Medusa nightclub, which is situated in the south-coast resort of Bodrum, Turkey.

The up-and-coming musician was allegedly hit as she walked across the stage and died after failed attempts to revive her in hospital. Reports claim that Mehmet Ali Surensoy, believed to be the owner of the venue, also perished in the incident, while four other people sustained injuries.

The attackers drove away from the scene following the massacre, however, police have detained four suspects at a police check point, who are currently still being questioned in custody.

Hacer, who was reportedly mother to a 15-year-old daughter, previously worked with some of the most popular artists in modern Turkish music and attracted the attention of over 50,000 Instagram followers.

The popstar released her debut album in 2014 and her song "Omur Torpusu" has so far achieved 4.2 million views.
