"Thank you from the bottom of my heart," she gushed. "This is a really important night of my life. I've always heard Croke Park is legendary and you've done a wonderful thing for us tonight by spending your Friday with us".

The last time Swift performed in Ireland was at the 3Arena in 2015.

Prior to the start of the first of her two weekend shows, Taylor received an official welcome to Dublin from U2 - she shared a photo of a bouquet of red roses Bono and the boys had sent her.
