As I Lay Dying also announces a comeback show in San Diego, California on Saturday, June 16.

AceShowbiz - Heavy rockers As I Lay Dying have reunited with former frontman Tim Lambesis after he served time for plotting to kill his ex-wife.

The singer pleaded guilty to soliciting an undercover cop, who was posing as a hitman, to murder his then-estranged wife Meggan Lambesis in February, 2014. He was sentenced to serve six years in prison, but was released in December, 2016.

Last year (17), he apologised to fans via the group's Facebook page, expressing remorse over his "appalling actions", and now it appears his old bandmates have forgiven him.

Tim's reunion with the group was revealed in a post shared online on Monday, June 11, although the musicians did not go into detail about their decision. They plan to address questions in the coming days.

"It's difficult to encapsulate all of the topics we want to address with a written statement," the post read. "We understand there are many questions and we plan to address them this week".

As I Lay Dying used the opportunity to share their first new song in six years, and announce a comeback show in San Diego, California on Saturday, June 16.

The news of Lambesis' return was met with mixed reactions from music fans.

"Just a friendly reminder that Tim Lambesis went to prison for hiring a hit man to kill his wife. Thanks for letting me know you like As I Lay Dying's new song so I can unfollow you," one Twitter user wrote, while another posted: "I cannot believe As I Lay Dying released a new song and that people are just ignoring that Tim had tried to put a hit out on his wife".
