The nefarious politician wants to be Harlem's heroin but unfortunately for her, she's not the only one vying for control in the city.

AceShowbiz - A new trailer for upcoming season 2 of "Luke Cage" has been released for viewing pleasure. The new trailer puts highlight on Alfre Woodard's Mariah Dillard who wants to be the Queen of Harlem.

"You don't need to be a bulletproof to be a superhero. ... Harlem doesn't need a hero. It needs a queen," she says in the trailer. The nefarious politician, who is also a club owner, continues saying that she wants to bring miracle to Harlem.

Unfortunately for her, she's not the only one vying for control in the city. John McIver a.k.a. Bushmaster (Mustafa Shakir), the new bad guy in the sophomore season who can shrug off bullets just like Luke Cage (Mike Colter), can be seen holding her in captive before putting her house on fire.

Mariah, however, seemingly has a way to somehow coax Luke into serving her. "My dark chocolate boy scout, of course you're going to save me. You need me out there," she tells the bulletproof hero. It remains to be seen whether he will accept the proposal, but either way, the trailer glimpses a slew of action-packed scenes involving Luke.

Another baddie in the upcoming season is also featured towards the end of the trailer. A crime lord named Rosalie (Annabella Sciorra) is briefly glimpsed in a dining room as if she's expecting someone to come.

Season 2 will see Luke Cage becoming a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so well known has only increased the pressure he feels to protect the community. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.

Also returning for season 2 are Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Theo Rossi as Shades. They are joined by newcomer Gabrielle Dennis who is tapped to play Tilda Johnson.

"Luke Cage" season 2 will air on June 22 on Netflix.
