AceShowbiz - Going to work on the set of Ocean's 8 was "like Christmas" for the all-female ensemble thanks to surprise gifts from generous castmate Rihanna.
Actress Mindy Kaling reveals the Work hitmaker would frequently have shoes and apparel from her bestselling Fenty x Puma collection handed out to her fellow leading ladies, and it was always exciting to see what they'd be treated to next.
"She's just shy and incredibly stylish and sweet," Mindy gushed about the pop superstar, who portrays a master hacker in the new heist movie. "Like, I'd go to my trailer and you remember the sneakers, the creepers that she made for Puma, that completely sold out? You'd go to your trailer and they'd be another gift from Rihanna's line; it was like Christmas every morning!"
However, Mindy jokes that she wasn't allowed to get too close to the singer-turned-actress, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, when the cameras weren't rolling.
She told breakfast show Today: "You'd go to thank her and she's so shy and sweet and you want to throw your arms around her, and she'd have her security guards who'd say, 'Please don't touch Miss Fenty!'"
Sharing her personal style picks with Kaling and their co-stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina wasn't the only way Rihanna was able to bond with the group - she also helped to give new mum Hathaway a big confidence boost by complimenting her figure.
The Les Miserables actress began filming Ocean's 8 just months after welcoming her first child with husband Adam Shulman, but any concerns she had about her extra baby weight quickly disappeared on set.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Thursday, June 07, Anne revealed she was overjoyed to hear Bullock and Blanchett say she was "looking good" as she strutted onset in a pair of jeans, but it was a remark from Rihanna which really got her excited.
"Rihanna looks up and goes, 'Damn girl, you got an a**!'," Anne recalled. "And I, of course ,was freaked out and loved it so much and go, 'Really?' And she goes, 'You got an a** like me.' And I can honestly say I've never had that experience on a film set before."
