CMT Music Awards 2018: Blake Shelton Named the Biggest Winner

The 'God Gave Me You' singer took home two awards at the event, including Video of the Year for 'I'll Name the Dogs'.

AceShowbiz - All the winners at the recently wrapped 2018 CMT Music Awards have been announced. Blake Shelton came out as the biggest winner at the Wednesday, June 7 event, which was held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

The "God Gave Me You" singer, who opened the event that night, took home two prizes at the award-giving show, including the biggest honor Video of the Year for his single "I'll Name the Dogs". The single additionally earned him Male Video of the Year.

"I've been doing this for 18 years. I have been making records, lucky enough that you guys have accepted them and country radio has played them and CMT has played my videos," Blake said during his acceptance after receiving the biggest honor. "It's been a crazy ride and I gotta say, it's so cool to sit up here tonight with this new generation."

Carrie Underwood, who led the nominees list, fortunately did not come home empty handed. The "American Idol" alum made history as she won Female Video of the Year for her single "The Champion" featuring Ludacris. The achievement made her extend her run as the most decorated artist in the history of the event.

This year's ceremony did not only honor the biggest country musicians. Backstreet Boys nabbed CMT Performance of the Year for their song "Everybody" featuring Florida Georgia Line. Little Big Town, who hosted the ceremony, also won an award that night. The group took home Group Video of the Year for their song "When Someone Stops Loving You".

Other winners at this year's event included Carly Pearce and Kane Brown. While the former won Breakthrough Video of the Year for "Every Little Thing", the latter notched Collaborative Video of the Year for "What Ifs" featuring Lauren Alaina.
