AceShowbiz - Police officers swarmed Stan Lee's Hollywood Hills home on Thursday night, May 31 amid reports of an armed man making threats against the comic book icon.

Authorities surrounded the lavish California estate as they responded to an emergency call, during which one suspect had allegedly confronted Lee demanding money, according to DailyMail.com.

Two men were subsequently detained at the house, although it's not clear if any arrests were made.

"Officers were called to a property... after reports of an assault," confirmed a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department. "It was claimed that a suspect had a gun and was threatening.

"Officers detained two individuals that matched the description and an investigation is ongoing".

Marvel legend Lee, 95, was present during the drama, which reportedly unfolded following a heated argument with the two suspects.

"There was a confrontation with Stan in front of his house, but Stan doesn't know either of them (sic)," a source told the outlet. "One guy was saying, 'I want my money'.

"But when everyone realised the men had guns everyone retreated inside. Stan's lawyer, business partner and a nurse were with him at the house. At some point the men took out their guns and were pointing them around so the police were called".

The men allegedly ditched their weapons before cops arrived, but the firearms are said to have been recovered during a search of the property grounds.

It's the latest headline-grabbing incident involving Lee - police were most recently called to his home in April after an intruder tried to force his way into the house, while the veteran star was also said to have become a victim of elder abuse, allegations he denied.
