AceShowbiz - Damon Albarn's band Gorillaz have recruited Jack Black to star in their new video for Humility.

The group debuted the George Benson-sampled song on Beats 1 on Thursday, May 31 and shortly afterwards the summer-themed promo appeared online.

Black appears as himself busking around Venice Beach in California, as the animated Gorillaz characters roller blade, play chess and just hang out on the boardwalk.

The new track will feature on the British band's upcoming sixth album, The Now Now, which is set for release at the end of June.

Launching the track on DJ Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show, Albarn explained he decided to release a bunch of new songs, so the band had "something nice to play everyone" on tour this summer.

"I thought I should make a record where I'm just singing for once," he said. "It's an album, I sing on it. It's pretty much just me singing".

The Now Now is the band's first release in six years.

"I feel really good about it," Damon told Lowe. "It's a summer record".
