Rhys will portray the stepfather of Beth Winters, while Dornan is set to play Beth's boyfriend on the mini-series.

AceShowbiz - Jamie Dornan and Matthew Rhys are teaming up to star in a mini-series based on Eugene McCabe's "Death And Nightingales".

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" star and Rhys will star alongside Ann Skelly in the three-part drama, which is set in 1885 and takes place over a 24-hour period.

"The Americans" star Rhys will play the stepfather of Skelly's Beth Winters, while Dornan will portray her lover.

Production on the series will begin this summer in Northern Ireland, according to Deadline.

"Death and Nightingales" will serve as a reunion for Dornan and writer Allan Cubitt, who worked together on TV drama "The Fall".

"I'm thrilled to be reunited with Allan and his brilliant scripts to play such an intriguing character like Liam Ward and to return to Northern Ireland." Dornan says.
