AceShowbiz - Rihanna is celebrating after Mia Amor Mottley was named her native Barbados' first female prime minister earlier this week, ends May 27.
The Labour Party leader was elected to power in a landslide victory on Thursday, May 24, according to Billboard.
"say hello to my new prime minister and most importantly the FIRST FEMALE prime minister of Barbados... the honorable Prime Minister @mamottley well deserved and about time!," Rihanna wrote on Instagram on Friday, alongside a picture of Mottley. "breaking barriers and making history in so many ways!!! Congratulations".
The country gained independence from Britain in 1966 and has been governed by Prime Minister Freundel Stuart for a decade.
