'Show Dogs' Cuts Scenes After Outcry Over Perceived Message About Sexual Abuse

Global Road Entertainment has decided to remove two scenes which have been 'deemed not appropriate for children.'

AceShowbiz - A hit new movie comedy about show dogs has been recut to remove an insensitive sexual assault joke. Global Road Entertainment executives made the decision to re-edit family film Show Dogs after officials at the National Center on Sexual Exploitation took issue with a subplot featuring an undercover police dog, voiced by Ludacris, who complains about strangers touching his genitals.

A statement released to Deadline reads: "Responding to concerns raised by moviegoers and some specific organizations, Global Road Entertainment has decided to remove two scenes from the film Show Dogs that some have deemed not appropriate for children.

"The company takes these matters very seriously and remains committed to providing quality entertainment for the intended audiences based on the film’s rating. We apologize to anybody who feels the original version of Show Dogs sent an inappropriate message. The revised version of the film will be available for viewing nationwide starting this weekend".

The PG-rated film opened on Friday, May 18. It also features the voice talents of Will Arnett, Stanley Tucci, and Alan Cumming.
