AceShowbiz - Rap newcomer Tekashi69 a.k.a. 6ix9ine has been slapped with new charges after reportedly assaulting a police officer following his bust for a traffic violation on Sunday, May 20.

The 22-year-old, real name Daniel Hernandez, was stopped by cops in his native Brooklyn, New York after violating parking rules by leaving his vehicle in front of a fire hydrant.

Officers soon discovered his licence had been suspended after running his plate number through their computer system, and he was taken to a local station to be cited.

During his detention authorities discovered Hernandez had a warrant out for his arrest in Houston, Texas, for allegedly choking a teenager at a local mall in January, and they attempted to handcuff the MC, who retaliated by reportedly grabbing hold of a cop's hand and squeezing it so hard it caused swelling.

Hernandez was hauled into Brooklyn Criminal Court on Monday, when he was arraigned for second-degree assault, third-degree assault, third-degree attempted assault, third-degree menacing and second-degree obstructing governmental administration, according to local news outlet Pix11.com.

He was released on $25,000 (£18,600) bail.
