AceShowbiz - Goodbye, Abby! The Tuesday, May 8 episode of "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" season 15 definitely made everyone bawl their eyes out as we had to bid farewell to the forensic scientist played by Pauley Perrette.

After it was announced last October that Perrette would exit the show after 15 seasons, everyone assumed that the Tuesday episode, titled "Two Steps Back", would be her final episode. [SPOILER ALERT!] The latest episode saw the aftermath of the previous episode in which Abby and Clay Reeves (Duane Henry) were shot in a "mugging gone wrong."

Abby was seen lying unconcious on a hospital bed, all tubed up. McGee (Sean Murray) said, "I just wish I can help her." He added, "Somebody wants you dead! I need you to stop sleeping and wake up! Please wake up!"

Meanwhile, the mugger turned out to be Former Army Specialist Kent Marshall who was dishonorably discharged in 2008. It was also revealed that it wasn't just a random attack as he was actually a contract killer who was paid to kill Abby.

Abby woke up in the middle of the episode. Then, it didn't took long for her to find out the man who was behind the attack, bio-weapons terrorist Marine Sergeant Robert King (Peter Jason). He's been looking to punish Abby after she gets him to admit his crime, leading him to spend some time behind the bars.

Abby went back to the morgue, tearfully saying goodbye to Clay's dead body. She later announced to her team that she would be taking Clay to London and buried him next to his mother. "I'm not coming back," she explained. "I'm leaving NCIS. Clay died saving my life and I owe him a debt and I intend to see it through. Clay always wanted to start a charity in honor of his mom. Since he's not here to make that happen, I will. I know you may not understand but it’s something I have to do. Not just for him, but for me."

"It wasn't an easy decision," she went on saying. "You guys are my family and this is my home. But you have to go with your gut and my gut is telling me that I have to go."

Abby, however, didn't say goodbye in person to Gibbs (Mark Harmon). She left him a note that read, "Hey, Gibbs. You're probably wondering what's with the retro communication. Truth is, I chickened out. I was afraid that if you asked me to stay, I might waiver because there's nothing I wouldn't do for you."

"When I think back on when things in my life got difficult you were always there to tell me that it would be okay. And it would be because you would make it okay. But Gibbs, Reeves is gone and it's not something anyone can fix. Not even you," the note continued. "I hope you know what you mean to me, Gibbs. Every moment, every lesson, every hug. I'm thankful for it all. No matter what we faced over the years, there was only ever one thing I needed to hear from you."

When Gibbs looked out his window, he found Abby standing outside. That was such a beautiful yet sad scene at the same time.

Of her exit, Perrette said on her Twitter account, "I'm so worried about you guys for Tuesdays episode of the #GoodbyeAbby. It's sad, But I hope hope hope you will all watch. I Want the world to watch. I did my best work for you. And TONS of flashbacks. Everyone is there. Love you! Get everyone to watch please."

"NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" season 15 airs on Tuesdays at 8 P.M. on CBS.
