Kathy Griffin Takes Back Apology to Donald Trump: 'F**k Him!'
Celebrity

Griffin revisited the 2017 controversy which threatened her career during her Monday, April 30 appearance on 'The View', where she dropped the F-bomb.

AceShowbiz - It seems like Michelle Wolf's unapologetic performance at White House Correspondent's Association Dinner on Saturday had a big impact on Kathy Griffin. The comedienne, who previously apologized to President Donald Trump after her infamous photo of her carrying what looks like a severed head of Trump received backlash, has rescinded her apology.

Griffin revisited the 2017 controversy which threatened her career during her appearance on "The View" on Monday, April 30, a year after the picture was released. "By the way, I take the apology back," Griffin told the audience, before adding, "F**k him!"

The 57-year-old went on taking a jab at Trump's sons Don Jr. and Eric, referring to them as "Eddie Munster and Date Rape." Griffin continued, "Look, I'm not holding back on this family. This family is different. I've been through the mill, so I'm back on the road," before boasting that she sold the tickets for her Carnegie Hall show in less than 24 hours.

She went on saying that after the controversy broke, her mother thought she was a part of ISIS. "People thought I was ISIS. When my mother called - she watches Fox News and thinks it's real and thinks Bill O'Reilly is on vacation - that day, as crazy as it was, I was in a ball, sobbing, everything's over," she explained. "I had to spend two hours convincing my mom I hadn't been recruited by Al-Qaeda - my mom got death threats in her retirement village, and my sister got death threats in her hospital bed, and I lost her to cancer - that's why I shaved my head. That's how vicious it can be."

When asked if she regretted saying that she's sorry, Griffin shared, "I do." She opened up that she originally apologized after thinking about the feelings of the mother of Daniel Pearl, The Wall Street Journal journalist who was kidnapped and beheaded by terrorists in Pakistan in 2002. She added, "Then when I found out I was part of the Trump woodchipper - which Michelle Wolf is in now - that they had this apparatus already set up."

"I wanted to make a statement about what a misogynist [Trump] is, and I remembered the eight years of photos [circulated online] of an Obama lynching, and nobody said anything, it was all on Facebook … people were going to rallies with Hillary's head decapitated, they get away with everything," she said.

In an apology video she shared last year, Griffin said that she "sincerely apologize. I'm a comic. I crossed the line … I went way too far. The image is too disturbing, I understand how it offends people, I get it."
