The Chainsmokers' member stays humble during his acceptance speech by noting that he often has difficulty coming up with lyrics.

AceShowbiz - The Chainsmokers' frontman Andrew Taggart has been named Songwriter of the Year by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. The star, who has enjoyed a string of hits with songwriting partner Alex Pall, accepted the honor on Tuesday, April 24.

"This is crazy," he said as he took the stage to collect the prize. "There are so many people in this room that I really respect and idolise and look up to." The singer humbly shrugged off his skills as a composer, noting he often has difficulty coming up with lyrics.

"You think you win an award like this (and) that means that you know something about songwriting. I still have no f**king clue," he laughed. "Every song, I'm always in a constant state of panic. I don't know if I'm ever going to have a big song again. Somehow me and my best bud, Alex Pall, keep figuring it out. Maybe this is it, honest it might be."

After collecting the award, Taggart took to Instagram to share his excitement and gave a special shout out to the notable songwriters in attendance at the ceremony, such as Steve Mac and Emily Warren.

He captioned video of his speech, "Thank you @ascap for naming me songwriter of the year along side my idols @whereisstarrah (Starrah) Max Martin and Steve Mac! what an honor. and of course have to shoutout my girl @emilywarrennnn."
