AceShowbiz - As the filming for "Big Little Lies" season 2 is currently underway, it's only natural if the cast starts sharing some set photos to give a peek at the upcoming season. With that being said, Nicole Kidman takes to her Instagram account to share the first look at Meryl Streep's character.

Meryl joins the critical-acclaimed series as Mary Louise Wright, the mother of Alexander Skarsgard's Perry Wright and the mother-in-law of Nicole's Celeste. Meryl, donning a bob-hair wig, can be seen sitting on the floor in pajamas, leaning her back to the bed. Meryl's Mary Louise affectionately holds a tablet for her twin grandchildren, one of whom is in Celeste's embrace.

According to the caption, the snap was taken on the first day of second season filming. "First day on the set with Meryl and 'my' darling boys! #BigLittleLies," so Nicole captions it.

Meryl was confirmed to star in the sophomore season of the Emmy-winning series in January. The official logline for "The Devil Wears Prada" star's character reads, "Concerned for the well-being of her grandchildren following her son's death, Mary Louise arrives in Monterey searching for answers."

Meryl is joined by a bunch of returning actors. Among them are Monterey ladies Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, Zoe Kravitz and Reese Witherspoon. Adam Scott is also set to reprise his role as Ed Mackenzie, the patient, loyal and faithful husband of Reese's Madelaine Martha Mackenzie. Alexander is also expected to return, though his character is presumed dead in the finale of season 1.

In the sophomore season, each character will be facing their own problems. Celeste is still reeling from her husband's death, "adrift, but determined to fight for her family and find the woman she once was." Meanwhile, Madeline is said to be confronting the truth of Perry's death and coming to terms with her own marriage and traditional notions of marriage. As for Shailene's Jane, she will continue to rebuild her life with son Ziggy (Iain Armitage) as she processes the death of her attacker.

Written by David E. Kelley and directed by Andrea Arnold, the 7-episode season 2 of "Big Little Lies" reportedly will arrive in 2019.
