Fans will be seeing old favorite guest stars in the new season of the reboot of the 1990s comedy.

AceShowbiz - Following the huge return, ABC has renewed "Roseanne" for a second season. The super early renewal arrives after the reboot of the 1990s comedy debuted its first episode out of its nine episodes to monster ratings.

"We're thrilled that America has welcomed the Conner family back into their homes," Channing Dungey, ABC Entertainment president, says in a statement. "The show is as fresh and relevant today as it was when it left the air 21 years ago. We can't wait to see what the 'Roseanne' team has in store for next year."

Star Roseanne Barr also takes to Twitter to share the exciting news. "I just got the call-thank u ABC!" she writes, before adding, "Thank you, Roseanne Show family (including fans). B'aruch Hashem. #DAYENU."

It is indeed only natural for the network to keep the comedy around. After one day of delayed viewing counted, the revived show picked up an additional 3.4 million viewers, bringing its total viewer count to a whopping 21.89 million. In addition, "Roseanne" shows a rapid grow in its 18-49 demo which drew its rating to 6.24.

The huge success of the show's debut prompted President Donald Trump to give a congratulatory phone call. Barr, who plays Trump supporter Roseanne Conner on the comedy, detailed the "sweet" phone in a Thursday, March 29 episode of "Good Morning America". She revealed that POTUS called her on Wednesday night, adding that the phone was like a "sweet" gesture from an old friend.

"They said, 'Hold please for the President of the United States of America' and that was about the most exciting thing ever. It was just very sweet of him to congratulate us," she added.

"We just kind of had a private conversation," she said. "But you know, we talked about a lot of things. He's just happy for me. I've known him for many years and he's done a lot of nice things for me over the years. So, it was just a friendly conversation about work, and you know, television and ratings."

Fans will be seeing old favorite guest stars in the new season of "Roseanne". Estelle Parsons, Sandra Bernhard, Natalie West, James Pickens and Adilah Barnes are among the returning guest stars.
