Wendy Williams Slams Katy Perry's Hair, Says It Isn't Worth Her $25M Paycheck on 'American Idol'

The talk show host says the 'Firework' hitmaker should change up her hair every week with that huge paycheck and slams her judging skills.

AceShowbiz - Wendy Williams has picked Katy Perry as her latest target. The talk show host, who is known for her harsh comments on other stars, slammed the "American Idol" for not giving her best despite allegedly earning $25 million for being tapped as a judge on the revived singing competition series.

Williams began by comparing Perry to her fellow "Idol" judge Luke Bryan. "The cowboy Luke, Luke is humorous in his own humorous way ... He's doing the best he can to make up for Katy Perry making $25 million and not doing much," the 53-year-old actress said on her show on Tuesday, March 27.

She also criticized Perry for playing a prank on a contestant on "Idol". In the Monday, March 26 episode, the "Dark Horse" singer asked if one of four members of a girl group, who just performed, could volunteer to go home since there's only three spots for them. Crystal Alicea, who struggled to keep up with the rest of the group, volunteered before she broke down in tears. "So Katy played a joke some people thought was really cruel last night, it was not a $25 million joke, honey," Williams said.

In addition to Perry's judging skills, Williams blasted Perry for her hairstyle and outfits. "They don't tune in to see what she's wearing, I'm tired of tuning in for the same hair," she added. "She looks cute, she's super talented, but this is not her thing to be judging on 'American Idol' for $25 million."

Williams continued, "She's not delivering $25 million worth of delivery. She's wearing the same hair, switch it up a little bit. Remember how we used to watch 'American Idol' to see what Jennifer Lopez was wearing? Wear some cool clothes and stop with the dumb jokes. Nobody cares."

Williams is seemingly not fond of the show in general. Pointing out its low ratings compared to rival show "The Voice" which airs on the same night, she said, "It's not about the contestants, it's about the judges... Now people just want to see a bunch of feistiness."
