The 'Man of Steel' actress and the 'Last Song' actor have been tapped to star in the upcoming sixth and final season of Netflix's political drama as siblings.

AceShowbiz - After being in limbo following Kevin Spacey's sexual harassment scandal, the sixth and final season of "House of Cards" has officially resumed. In addition, the Netflix political drama has tapped Oscar-nominated actors Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear to play major roles in the upcoming season which is said to be having eight episodes.
Lane and Kinnear will star opposite leading actress Robin Wright in season 6, which resumed its filming on Wednesday, January 31. It remains to be seen, however, what characters the "Man of Steel" actress and "The Last Song" actor will be playing except the fact they will play siblings.
Netflix previously abruptly suspended the production of season 6 of "House of Cards" after the first sexual harassment allegation against Spacey was made public. The streaming giant also announced that season 6 would be the final season of the hit series.
The production restart comes after Netflix extended its hiatus for another two weeks until December 8, 2017. Netflix's content chief Ted Sarandos later announced that the production would resume in early 2018. "We are excited to bring closure to fans," Sarandos said at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference on Monday, December 4. "We're excited for the 370 people who make 'House of Cards' and have done the best work of their lives on that show; for the 2,000 people in Baltimore who have come to depend on that show for their jobs. And so we're really excited that we were able to come to a good creative conclusion to the show."
"Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making sexual advance on him when he was 14 years old. In addition to Rapp, eight anonymous former and current employees of "House of Cards" came forward with similar accusations against the Oscar-winning actor. Recently, Spacey was accused of racism on the set of "House of Cards".
