The Commander Fred Waterfold depicter reveals that the upcoming sophomore season of the Golden Globes-winning series will be 'as creepy as ever.'

AceShowbiz - "The Handmaid's Tale" actor Joseph Fiennes offers some details about the upcoming season 2 of the award-winning Hulu series. The actor, who graced the red carpet at the 2018 SAG Awards while donning a Time's Up pin on Sunday, January 21, teased that the sophomore season would be "as creepy as ever."

"It's full of inspiration and fight and resistance, and I think that's at the heart of this very creepy world of Gilead," Fiennes, who portrays Commander Fred Waterfold, continued saying.

Samira Wiley, who plays Moira on the series, added, "I'm in season 2! You will see me there." However, she refused to give away more details about the highly-anticipated 13-episode new season.

During the interview for The PEOPLE, Entertainment Weekly & TNT Official SAG Awards Red Carpet Live Show, Fiennes also told PeopleTV's Lola Ogunnaike and PEOPLE Now's Jeremy Parsons about gender equality. "The three most important people in my life are my wife and my two daughters, I would love for my two daughters to enter a world of parity of pay," he said. "It seems crazy in today's age that we should be fighting for that."

The first teaser of the "The Handmaid's Tale" season 2 offered a first glimpse at the feared colonies, contaminated and polluted regions of Gilead, a totalitarian and theocratic state which has replaced the United States of America, where prisoners are sent to. The Golden Globes-winning dystopian series also gives a first look at Madeline Brewer's Janine, who is featured standing in a field which appears to be located outside the Boston setting, where the show takes place.

Season 2 of "The Handmaid's Tale" is set to premiere on April 25 on Hulu.
