'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' and 'Big Little Lies' lead in terms of number, while 'The Big Sick', which didn't get a single nomination at the Golden Globes, scores two SAG nominations.

AceShowbiz - As the road to Oscars is getting closer, the SAG-AFTRA has announced the nominations for its annual Screen Actors Guild Awards. Normally, the SAG nominations can be strong predictors for the acting and best picture nominations for Oscars.

Olivia Munn and Niecy Nash were on hand to announce the SAG nominations at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood Wednesday, December 13. In movie field, "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" leads the pack with four nods, including best actress nomination for Frances McDormand, and best actor nods for Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell.

"Get Out", "Lady Bird", "I, Tonya" and "The Big Sick", which was snubbed by Golden Globes, land multiple nominations. "Wonder Woman", which was also considered one of the biggest snubs at Golden Globes, manages to snatch one nomination in best stunt ensemble category.

Meanwhile, Steven Spielberg's "The Post", which is dubbed a potential strong contender for the Academy Awards, doesn't land a single SAG nomination. Moreover, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks surprisingly are left out of the best actors category despite their stellar performances in the movie.

While "Call Me by Your Name" star Timothee Chalamet lands a nomination, his co-star Armie Hammer unexpectedly doesn't make the cut. The same thing happens to "Battle of the Sexes" star Emma Stone who doesn't get nominated while her on-screen rival Steve Carell nabs the nomination for the supporting role category.

In television department, "Big Little Lies" and "GLOW" dominate the list with four nods each. "Big Little Lies" has its actresses Laura Dern, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon competing against "Feud: Bette and Joan" stars Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon.

The multiple nominations for "GLOW", meanwhile, come as a bit of surprise since the series didn't get much award buzz aside from Alison Brie's performance and her recent Golden Globe nomination. Yet, the Netflix wrestling comedy is nominated for best ensemble and best performance by a stunt ensemble in a comedy series in addition to Marc Maron and Alison Brie's individual nomination.

"Black-ish" earns two nominations, for Outstanding Ensemble and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor (Anthony Anderson) in a Comedy Series, but Tracee Ellis Ross surprisingly doesn't receive the same love.

The 24th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will broadcast live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 21, 2018 starting at 8 P.M. ET/5 P.M. PT. Kristen Bell will serve as the host. The ceremony will feature all-female presenters.
