'Claws' Renewed for Season 2 by TNT

The network has renewed the comedic drama for a sophomore season, which is set to be released sometime in 2018.

AceShowbiz - Desna Simms and all the ladies will be staying at Nail Artisan Salon for another season. TNT has announced that it has renewed comedic drama "Claws" for season 2 ahead of the series' August 13 season finale.

"Look out Manatee County, these ladies are coming back for more!" Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT, said in a statement. "These strong-willed, hilarious women represent the diverse voices this network is all about. 'Claws' has certainly struck a chord with audiences and continues to attract new viewers each week."

Starring Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Judy Reyes, Karrueche Tran and Dean Norris, "Claws" ranks as cable's No. 4 drama with adults 18-49 for 2017-to-date and No. 4 cable drama in social engagement despite having only five episodes in. The manicurist drama is reaching a multiplatform audience of 6.3 million viewers per episode across TNT's linear, digital, mobile and on-demand platforms and averaging 1.1 million adults 18-49 in linear Live + 7.

"Claws" is executive produced by Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, showrunner Janine Sherman Barrois and director Howard Deutch, with series creator Eliot Laurence co-executive producing. The series hails from Jones and McCormack's Le Train Train, in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television and Turner's Studio T.

"Claws" season 1 airs on Sundays at 9 P.M. on TNT, while the sophomore season is set to air in 2018.
